| Enable SpamShield Pro |
Turn all of SpamShield Pro’s options on or off. If there is a check in the checkbox, it is ON. If there is no check in the checkbox, it is OFF.
If you turn it off, you will get all of the emails regardless if those are spam emails or not. |
| Sensitivity |
Classify a message as spam based on a SpamShield Score that you choose. A high SpamShield Score indicates that a message is more likely to be spam. At the default level of 2.5, SpamShield Pro should detect over 75% of junk email with no false positives, based on test results.
SpamShield Pro considers a message to be spam if its SpamShield Score is greater than the minimum you set. If you notice that SpamShield Pro is considering a lot of non-spam emails to be spam emails, you may want to increase its tolerance by raising the minimum SpamShield Score Sensitivity. |
| Move spam to INBOX |
Automatically move spam into a folder of your choice.
If you use Webmail or IMAP often, you can have SpamShield Pro automatically move all the spam emails to the Spam folder. If you use POP3, it is recommended that you select INBOX to leave spam in your INBOX and enable the Insert SpamShield Score feature described below. After you do this, you can use your email client built in filtering rules to seperate your legitimate and spam emails. |
| Hide images |
In Webmail, this option removes image tags from messages in the Spam folder to block image-based web bugs and graphics that may be offensive. It’s also a great way to reduce overhead on slow internet connections.
This feature prevents a method that a spammer use to deterimine if the dictionary-based list of email addresses are legitimate or not. If you view the image tag, your email address will be added to the spammer's collection of web logs. After the spammer sorts the logs, this spammer will know which email accounts are active and being used by legitimate users such as you. This increases the value of your email address to this particular spammer. In the future, this spammer will either sell the list of those emails including your email address or be the one continue to hammer your email address with higher priory than those email addresses that never had image hits recorded.
This feature does not affect your email client if you use POP3 or IMAP. |
| Insert SpamShield Score into messages as header |
This option gives advanced email users the ability to create an email filtering rule in their favorite email program that recognizes the SpamShield Score so it can perform additional actions on the junk email.
Examples of additional actions include moving the detected emails, according to the SpamShield Score, deleting, or several other options. If you use Outlook, refer to the documentations on how to use Rules and Alerts. If you use a different email client, check with its documentations on a similar feature. |
| Approved Senders |
SpamShield Pro will not affect messages received from email addresses on this list, sometimes referred to as a whitelist.
You can add their full email address or a domain to the list if you do not want their emails to be analyzed by SpamShield Pro.
Are you receiving emails from a important person and it is being considered as a spam by the SpamShield Pro? Add this important person's email address here and all of these important person's emails will be treated as non-spam emails. |
| Blocked Senders |
SpamShield Pro can reject all messages sent from email addresses on this list, sometimes referred to as a blacklist.
If you want to block all emails from a sender, you can use this feature. |
| Block all senders that are not Approved Senders |

You can use this feature to control who is allowed to send you emails. |
